Chris Skowronek Berry creates hand-dyed and printed textiles for contemporary art quilts and framed artwork.

In her garage studio, Chris plays with natural fibers and textile dyes to create unique designs on silk, cotton and linen. Inspired by nature, poetry and song lyrics, she enhances textiles and botanical prints creating framed artwork, art quilts and commercially printed fabrics.

CONTEMPORARY ART QUILTS →

Hand-dyed and commercial fabrics are pieced, stitched and fused to create art quilts, each based on unique manipulation of color, texture and other mixed-media design elements.

WHOLE CLOTH SURFACE DESIGN →

Fiber reactive dyes and inks are applied to natural fiber textiles through dye-painting, batik and screen printing. After “batching” (the time allowed for the dye to react with the fabric, forming a chemical bond), cloths are left whole as a base for art quilts or digitized for commercial printing.
